2010 Draft Prospects - OLB / CB / S

Outside Linebackers

Sergio Kindle

Texas

6'4

239

Kindle provides a very good pass rush from the outside.  This is vital in the 3 - 4 system.  Expect him, and most of these players to go to teams that play this system.

Sean Witherspoon

Missouri

6'1

241

Witherspoon had a great year at Missouri last year.  He is capable of many big plays in big situations.

Daryl Washington

TCU

6'2

226

I haven't seen much of TCU over the past season.  But I do know that they had one of the best defenses in the country last year, and Washington was a big part of that.

Jerry Hughes

TCU

6'2

225

Hughes was also part of that very successful TCU defense.  It was so good last year that it carried the Hornfrogs to their first BCS Bowl.

Eric Norwood

South Carolina

6'1

246

Norwood is a big impact player.  South Carolina play in the SEC which is regarded as the top Conference at the college level.  Norwood always stood out against this top level opposition.

Corner Back

Joe Haden

Florida

5'11

190

Haden is the top CB prospect in this draft.  He will get selected somewhere in the mid first round.  I believe that wherever he ends up, he will be a starter from week one.

Kyle Wilson

Boise State

5'10

190

Wilson is a very talented corner.  Boise got to a BCS bowl game last season (where they defeated TCU) and Wilson was one of the stand out players on this excellent team.

Kareem Jackson

Alabama

5'11

185

The 3rd corner we look at, and again from another highly successful team.  Jackson, part of the National Champion 'Crimson Tide', again may be an instant starter in the NFL.

Devin McCourty

Rutgers

5'11

186

McCourty is the top rated corner that didn't play in one of the power conferences.  This will mean that he will have to impress in the combine, and prove hiself against better WR's.

Patrick Robinson

Florida State

5'11

190

Robinson will hope to emulate the success of another certain CB out of Florida State.  If Robinson has half the success of 'Prime Time' then his team will be very lucky.

Safety

Eric Berry

Tennessee

5'11

195

Eric Berry is one of the very best players in this draft.  I expect him to go in the top 5.  The team that get him will get an impact player, who will make critical plays at important times.

Earl Thomas

Texas

5'10

190

Thomas is abl to cover the whole field very effectivley from the safety position.

Taylor Mays

USC

6'3

231

Mays is a very talented footballer.  The only problem with him is personality issues.  The combine is important to him as he has to impres in the interviews.

Chad Jones

LSU

6'3

231

Jones out of the SEC is another top safety.  He should go in the top 3 rounds.

Nate Allen

South Florida

6'1

205

The combine is important for Allen.  He will try to improve his stock against the other safetys.

So they are the last of my players to watch for the combine.  Tomorrow the workouts will begin, and I will tweet a link so that you can watch it live.  If you have any NFL questions please get in touch email - nflgbview@googlemail.com, twitter - www.twitter.com/nflgbview, search nflgbview on http://www.facebook.com/ or leave a comment.

2010 Draft Prospects - DT / DE / ILB

Now we take a look at some of the defensive players that will be competeing at the combine, and will get drafted into the NFL in April.

Defensive Tackle

Gerald McCoy

Oklahoma

6'4

289

McCoy is seen as one of the best players avaliable in this draft.  He is expected to go either 1st or 2nd overall.

Ndamukung Suh

Nebraska

6'4

300

Suh is seen as another of the top players avaliable this year.  Look for scouts of the Rams (picking 1st) and the Lions (picking 2nd) to try and seperate both Suh and McCoy.  If I were the Rams, without doubt, Suh would be my pick.

Brian Price

UCLA

6'1

270

Price is seen as the 2nd teir at the position.  He may well still go in the first round as there is often a run on certain positions in the draft.  I believe this year DT is a strong position, and alot will get taken in the 1st round.

Dan Williams

Tennessee

6'2

329

Williams is also in the 2nd teir at te position.  I still think he may be a 1st round pick.

Jared Odrick

Penn State

6'5

301

Odrick is another major talent that will be picked in either the late 1st or early 2nd round.

Defensive End

Derrick Morgan

Georgia Tech

6'4

275

This dominant pass rusher is seen as one of the best at the position.  Look for the scouts to use his numbers from the combine against others around him, to try and separate them.

Carlos Dunlap

Florida

6'6

290

Dunlap is also seen as one of the best pass rushers.  He does have some lingering questions about his personality, so the interview process will be big for him.  I expect him to get drafted in the 1st round.

Everson Griffen

USC

6'3

265

Another very good pass rusher who should go in the 1st round.  Also he has big game experiance, after playing 4 years in the fish bowl that is USC (Los Angeles).

Jason Pierre-Paul

South Florida

6'5

265

Pierre-Paul is another really good DE and pass rusher.  He should go in the first round.  Don't be suprised if he gets drafted before some of the other players listed here.

Corey Wooton

Northwestern

6'6

275

Another good player, at a position that is very much seen as a priority for most teams.  He should go at some time in the 2nd round.

Inside Linebacker

Rolando McClain

Alabama

6'4

255

McClain is an unbelieveable talent.  He is the QB of the defense.  At Alabama he often changed the play at the line very effectivley.  Nick Saben (his college coach) said that Rolando is the best defensive player that he has ever coached.  High praise from a coach who has won 2 National Championships at the college level.

Brandon Spikes

Florida

6'3

258

Spikes was the leader of that very impressive defense at Florida.  I expect him to go in the 2nd round.

Sean Lee

Penn State

6'2

236

Sean Lee will be looking for a big workout at the combine to ty and get himself closer to the 'Big 2' at this position.

Pat Angerer

Iowa

6'1

232

Angerer had a great season last year in Iowa's suprise run in the 'Big 10'.  He is a very effective ILB who can make all the plays required from the position.

Darryl Sharpton

Miami

6'0

229

I expect Sharpton to go within the first 3 rounds.

So here is a few names on the defensive side of the ball for you to look out for.  The battle between McCoy and Suh for the number 1 pick is a very interesting one.  There is also talk that the Rams (who pick 1st) may select a QB.  This is the topic up for discussion on the nflgbview facebook page.  Come to the facebook page, read my views, make yours and become a fan.

2010 Draft Prospects - RB / WR / TE

Running Backs

C.J Spiller

Clemson

5'11

195

Spiller is seen by many as the number 1 RB in this draft class. He is a very quick back with game breaking ability. He can catch the ball out of the backfield very well and runs decent routes. He isn't a power / goaline back. He may slow if he trys to add more bulk.

Ryan Matthews

Fresno State

5'11

220

Not much is known about Matthews as he played at a small school. All of the stats point to a very effective 3 down back. Will be interesting to see how he performs at the combine.

Jahvid Best

California

5'10

185

Best had a very productive career at Cal. He is very athletic, quick and provides a big play threat. His small frame makes him very ellusive, but does make it difficult for him to break many tackles. Is seen as a speed back.

Jonathan Dwyer

Georgia Tech

6'0

235

This a a big powerful back. He has great size, power and will pound the ball between the tackles. Their have been questions about his conditioning in the past. He does not possess game breaking speed.

Dexter McCluster

Ole Miss

5'8

165

McCluster is a very, quick versitile back who can also line up at WR. He has big play ability both running and catching the ball. He does have a very small frame, and duribility may be an issue (even though it wasn't at Ole Miss).

Wide Recievers

Dez Bryant

Oklahoma State

6'2

210

Bryant is seen as the number 1 WR in this draft. His height and catching ability make him very dangerous. He is dominant on jump balls. His route running needs work. He doesn't possess electric speed.

Arrelious Benn

Illinois

6'2

214

Benn is a decent all round reciever. He has good speed and is good in space. His hands have struggled in his senior year.

Demaryius Thomas

Georgia Tech

6'3

229

Thomas is a big physical reciever, who can beat press coverage well. He has no problems going over the middle. He doesn't run good routes and lacks speed.

Golden Tate

Notre Dame

5'11

195

Tate has had some VERY good games for Notre Dame. They have a pro style offence, so this will not be a problem. He is very athletic and make good yards after catch. He is not a crisp route runner and does not have great speed.

Brandon LaFell

LSU

6'3

206

LaFell is a big physical reciever who uses his size extremely well. He has good hands and is impressive after the catch. He is inconsistant in his route running, and does not have the speed to be a deep threat.

Tight Ends

Jermaine Gresham

Oklahoma

6'6

250

Gresham has great size and can get off the line with ease. He has good hands. His routes need work, as does his blocking. He has had quite a few injuries and duribility may be an issue.

Rob Gronkowski

Arizona

6'6

250

A big question about Gronkowski will be how his back has healed after surgery. If there are any questions he will undoubtedly fall. A good pass catcher, but needs to work on his blocking.

Dorin Dickerson

Pitt

6'2

230

I have to be honest, I do not know much about Dorin Dickerson. I'm looking forward to seeing his performance at the combine.

Dennis Pitta

BYU

6'5

248

Pitta has spent his college career gathering WR numbers from the TE position. BYU are a pass first, pass second type team. Pitta undoubtedley is very effective in the pass game. I will be interested to see if his blocking is up to scratch.

Aaron Hernandez

Florida

6'2

250

Hernandez is a great redzone target and can adjust to a poorly thrown ball. He is good after the catch and is un affraid to go over the middle. He isn't the biggest TE an therefore struggles to block.

So here are a few names for you to look out for at the combine. How would you rank these players? If you have any questions or issues with my points please get in touch. Email nflgbview@googlemail.com, twitter - nflgbview, or leave a comment

Tomorrow we will look at the offensive line positions - tackle, guard and center.
